Upcut spiral helps remove material from the groove. They work well for deep mortises, cutting dadoes in a router table, and any edge treatment done with the work facing upward. MLCS bits that I have to date have been excellent. No complaints and I would recommend. Well, this kit is a great spiral starter kit. I have used each of these bits for grooves and mortises on several projects now.
Bits cut very well, found out how fragile solid carbide in general really is. That was my fault. Set arrived from Amazon fast, intact and complete. I goofed and broke the 1/4" diameter bit.
